65 ASOs, DEOs roped in for Coronavirus work in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The State Government on Saturday directed 50 Assistant Section Officers (ASOs) and 15 Data Entry Operators of various administrative departments to report joining in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) forthwith to work with the BMC team for COVID-19 pandemic.

The move follows sharp rise in Coronavirus cases in the State capital city.

Now, Bhubaneswar is facing a crucial and critical time with 2795 active cases. Earlier today, BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Choudhury said that Bhubaneswar will have 5000 active cases by September 15 and 3429 active cases by August 31.

The ASOs and DEOs will work with the civic body till September 19. The Home Department has issued an order to this effect.
