Odisha’s Cuttack surpasses Khurda in daily COVID-19 case count, reports 589 fresh ones

Bhubaneswar: Cuttack surpassed Covid hotspot Khurda by reporting the highest daily spike in positive cases among all other districts on Monday, said the Information and Public Relations Department.

The district reported 589 fresh cases in the last 24 hours whereas Khurda detected 474 cases during the period.

Of the 2949 cases reported today in the State 1826 cases detected in quarantine centres and 1,123 are local contact cases. Now, the active cases stand at 26,602 while recovered tally rises to 54,405 in the State.

While Cuttack topped the list at 589 cases, Khurda counts 474 followed by Jajpur (215), Koraput (181), Ganjam (179), Mayurbhanj (156), Rayagada (143), Sambalpur (104), Nayagarh (93), Balasore (88), Puri (86), Sundargarh (81), Malkangiri (78), Bhadrak (66), Bargarh (62), Balangir (57), Kendrapara (56), Jagatsinghpur (51), Kandhamal (34), Kalahandi (30), Keonjhar (30), Nabarangpur (26), Sonepur (26), Jharsuguda (20), Dhenkanal (13), Boudh and Gajapati (3) each, Deogarh and Nuapada (2) and Angul (1).
