Odisha records sharpest spike of 3,371 Covid-19 cases

Bhubaneswar: Odisha recorded 3,371 Covid-19 cases, the State’s highest single-day spike in infections, on Wednesday, taking its tally to 87,602, said an official release.


According to the State Information and Public relations Department, of the 3371 new cases, Khurda continues to be the hotspot with highest 547 cases followed by Cuttack with 357 positive cases and Ganjam (196).


Another record-high of 13 patients died due to COVID19 in Odisha taking the State’s total death toll to 441. While three each death were reported from Sundargarh and Sambalpur districts, two each were reported from Cuttack and Ganjam districts and one each from Keonjhar, Puri and Khurda districts, according to the State Health and Family Welfare Department.
