Bhubaneswar, December 16: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to consider sanctioning of 7.87 lakh special houses to Cyclone Fani affected people under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G).
The Chief Minister said it will ensure safe housing to rural families of cyclone-prone areas which can withstand natural calamities.
“Odisha has also identified 6.07 lakh eligible households left out from the permanent wait list of PMAY (G) in 16 non-Fani affected districts. The Rural Development Ministry may be advised to open window of Aawaas+ mobile app to geo tag these houses to ensure safe housing for all,” wrote CM Patnaik.
