R-Day: Democracy will be stronger if we work together, says Naveen Patnaik

Bhubaneswar, January 26: Our democracy will be stronger if we work together to build consensus on issues of national importance while protecting the diversity, said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday on the occasion of 72nd Republic Day.

“Diversity is the biggest strength of our country which beautifully reflects in Indian Constitution. Our democracy will be stronger if we work together to build consensus on issues of national importance while protecting the diversity,” said Patnaik in a video message to mark the day.

The Chief Minister also highlighted Odisha’s economic progress and said that the State is a leader in implementing various welfare schemes for the people.

He said that the State has contained the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic to a great extent and appealed to everyone to adhere to the Covid guidelines.

The Chief Minister participated in the State-level Republic Day celebration at Mahatma Gandhi Marg here as guest of honour where Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal hoisted the national flag. Patnaik offered tributes to the freedom fighters, soldiers and Covid warriors.
