Budget Session of Parliament begins today

New Delhi, January 29: The Budget Session of Parliament will commence today with the President’s Address.

However, 16 Opposition political parties have decided to boycott President Ram Nath Kovind’s customary address to the joint sitting of the Parliament over farm laws.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget at 11 am on February 1.

The Session will conclude on April 8 with a recess in between from February 15 to March 8.

The Economic Survey will also be tabled in both Houses in this 30-minute sitting.

Covid protocols will be followed in this Session on the same lines as the Monsoon Session. The Rajya Sabha will hold sittings in the first half for four hours in both the chambers with some members also seated in the galleries. The Lok Sabha will meet from 4 PM to 9 PM.
