Vice President Naidu arrives in Bhubaneswar on 2-day Odisha visit

Bhubaneswar, April 2: Vice-president Venkaiah Naidu arrived in the State on Sunday on a two-day visit to Odisha.

He landed at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here at 11.15 AM in a special flight and was received by Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, SRC Pradeep Kumar Jena and DGP Abhay at the airport. Later, he drove straight to the Raj Bhavan.

In the afternoon at around 5.20 PM, he is scheduled to inaugurate the 600th birth anniversary celebrations of Adi Kabi Sarala Das at Sarala Bhawan in Cuttack later. The Vice President will return to Raj Bhawan where he will spend the night.

On April 3, Naidu is scheduled to attend the 50th convocation of Utkal University as the chief guest. The attendees will have to go through RTPCR test and social distancing of six feet shall be maintained between them.

After gracing the occasion, Naidu will return to Raj Bhawan for lunch and at around 4.40 PM, he will return to New Delhi in a special flight of the Indian Air Force (IAF) at around 5 PM.

The Commissionerate Police has beefed up security for the Vice President’s visit.

Around 40 platoons of the police force have been deployed while more than 130 officers are monitoring the security arrangements.
