Bhubaneswar, April 25: Odisha on Monday recorded as many as 6,599 COVID-19 cases while nine patients succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours in the State, said an official release.
According to data released by the State Information and Public Relations (I&PR) Department, of the fresh cases spread across all 30 districts, 3,827 were detected among people in quarantine and 2,772 were local infections.
With this, State’s Coronavirus positive tally rose to 4,14,056 while the death toll surged to 1,997. The active cases in the State stood at 49,075 while 3,62,931 patients have recovered from the infections, so far.
Khurda recorded the maximum 958 cases while Nuapada with 551 cases remains second in the infection list.
Sixteen more districts also recorded cases over 100 are- Kalahandi (518), Cuttack (488), Jharsuguda (436), Sundargarh (434), Ganjam (322), Jajpur (237), Sambalpur (226), Nawarangpur (221), Bargarh (203), Angul (187), Mayurbhanj (180), Konjhar (166) Puri (145), Balasore (137), Sonepur (129) and Rayagada (117).
The State has, so far, tested a total of 99,17,894 samples, including 39,642 on Sunday with positivity rate hitting at 4.17 per cent.
