Odisha CM launches slew of medical & oxygen facilities worth Rs 29.41 crore

Bhubaneawar, June 9: Further strengthening medical infrastructure to save precious lives from Covid pandemic, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday inaugurated medical facilities and laid foundation for several medical oxygen storage and generation plants worth Rs 29.41 crore at different hospitals in Odisha.

The Chief Minister laid foundation for Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) Storage Vessel Systems & Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) based oxygen generation plants at Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput, Bhima Bhoi MC&H in Balangir and Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar.

The Chief Minister launched the projects through video conferencing.

The CM also laid foundation for LMO Storage Vessel Systems & PSA based oxygen generation plants at Fakir Mohan MC & H in Baleswar, VIMSAR in Sambalpur, SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack, and LMO Storage Vessel System in Nabarangpur.

CM Patnaik inaugurated WHO supported Community Hospital, Dengue & Diarrhoea Ward, Blood Component Separation Unit at Fakir Mohan MC&H, Centre of Excellence, Pulmonary Medicine at SCB MC&H, and RT-PCR Testing Laboratory at DHH Nabarangpur.

He said that apart from meeting its own needs, Odisha has saved many precious lives by supplying medical oxygen to 17 States, adding that it has certainly created a unique identity for Odisha and is a matter of satisfaction for people of Odisha.
