‘Make in Odisha’ summit begins today, Mukesh Ambani to speak at 12.45 pm tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: The second edition of ‘Make in Odisha’ – a biennial investors’ conclave will begin today at Janata Maidan here.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the conclave at 6.30 pm. Inaugural plenary session will be held at 10.30 am on Monday. Reliance Group CMD Mukesh Ambani is scheduled to speak at Business Leadership Summit at 12.45 pm on Monday. The summit will provide leadership perspective from industry captains to inspire next generation leaders.

Besides Ambani, corporate heavyweights like Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran and Anil Agarwal, chairman of Vedanta Resources have confirmed their presence.

In addition, a contingent of 800 industry leaders including Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani is expected to attend the summit. State Bank of India chairman Rajnish Kumar and Bandhan Bank chairman and managing director Chandra Shekhar Ghosh will also take part in the investment summit of the Odisha Government.

The conclave will showcase the policy and regulatory environment, investment opportunities across focus sectors and the manufacturing prowess of the State.

At the inaugural edition of Make in Odisha conclave in 2016, the State attracted 124 investment intents valued at Rs 2.03 trillion.

“Sixty five per cent of these projects are at various stages of approval or implementation,” informed Industries Department Principal Secretary Sanjeev Chopra.
