Bhubaneawar, September 23: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday interacted with the Indian Under-18 Girls’ Rugby Team and honoured them with a cash award of Rs 5 lakh for winning Silver medal at the Asia U18 Girls Rugby7s Championship 2021 held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, recently.
Congratulating the team for their success, the Chief Minister praised them and said this is the start of a new journey, and in the coming years, the team will make history.
The team members thanked the Chief Minister for extending constant support towards sports, particularly Rugby.
State Sports and Youth Services Minister Tusharkanti Behera was also present.
