Bhubaneswar, December 4: The Special Task Force (STF) of the State Crime Branch has arrested notorious inter-State drug trafficker Sk Azbahar following a raid in Jodhpur in Rajasthan.
The STF with the help of Jodhpur Commissionerate Police arrested Azbahar, wanted in five narcotics cases of STF, Police and excise departments. Azbahar is a resident of Rajpur under Jaleswar police station in Balasore district.
The local Court at Jodhpur has granted the transit remand and he will be brought to Odisha and produced before the court of District & Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge, Balasore.
Notably, the STF seized 2.402 kg brown sugar on August 14 and arrested a few drug peddlers led by Azbahar, the mastermind. However, he managed to abscond. He was changing his hideouts regularly in various States, including in West Bengal and Rajasthan.
