Cuttack, December 20: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday inaugurated Odisha’s longest bridge over Mahanadi connecting Badamba Narasinghpur to Baideshwar of Banki.
The bridge will benefit over 5 lakh people as well as contribute to the development of tourism, agriculture & commerce in the region.
The ‘T’ shaped bridge spans 3.4 kilometre long and has been constructed at a cost of Rs 111 crore. The bridge will shorten the distance between Badamba and Banki Baideswhar by 45km and connect Shinhanath Temple.
There is a ramp bridge connecting the main bridge to the ASI protected famous Singhanath Temple Island on the upstream side of the bridge situated inside the Mahanadi river.
The Chief Minister had laid the foundation stone for the longest bridge in 2014.
