Koraput, March 22: Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal on Tuesday visited BSF Headquarters at Koraput.
Upon his arrival at the Border Security Force headquarters, he was welcomed by BSF IG (Odisha Frontier) Satish Chandra Budakoti, BSF DIG (Koraput) Madan Lal and officials of civil administration.
The Governor laid a wreath at the Martyr’s Memorial and paid homage to the martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice of their lives for the Nation in the line of duty.
Later the Governor was accorded Guard of Honour by BSF in the Camp.
IG BSF (Odisha Frontier) Satish Chandra Budakoti briefed the Governor about the deployment of BSF personnel and current left-wing extremism (LWE) situation in the region and various programmes being undertaken and organised by BSF to win hearts and minds of the people.
The Governor also interacted with the officials and appreciated the commitment and sacrifices made by the BSF in the fight against LWE to bring normalcy and tranquility in the region.
