Bhubaneswar, November 30: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday inaugurated the third edition of the four-day ‘Make in Odisha Conclave (MIO) 2022’ here to attract big-ticket industries to Odisha.
“I declare the Make in Odisha Conclave 2022 open,” announced the Chief Minister at a glittering ceremony at Janata Maidan.
The third edition of the biennial investment summit will continue till December 4, 2022.
Before declaring the conclave open, Patnaik addressed the national executive council of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
“Odisha is fast emerging as a fulcrum of trade, commerce and industrialization in eastern India and the Bay of Bengal region. I urge FICCI to promote Odisha as a destination of choice for the investor community through all of their channels. The State will continue to work with the industrial organisation to continue to work together in the near future towards bringing in investment and prosperity to Odisha,” said CM Patnaik.
“Through Mission Shakti, our goal is to empower the women of our state to be model entrepreneurs and leaders,” added the CM.
The event is likely to see participation of several corporate honchos, including LN Mittal of ArcellorMittal Group, Kumar Mangalam Birla of Birla Group, senior executives of Tata and Anil Agarwal.
Representatives from partner countries like Japan, Norway and Germany have arrived here to participate in the State’s flagship business summit, informed Industries Minister Pratap Keshari Deb.
Maintaining that the Government is quite optimistic that of getting huge intents this time and the total volume of investment proposals will surely surpass the previous two editions’ commitment, Deb said, “In the first and second editions of the grand summit held in 2016 and 2018, we received Rs 2 lakh crore and Rs 4.19 crore investment proposals, respectively. Our volume of business from the current summit will cross the total amount of investments that received in the first two editions.”
For the first time, a huge international pavilion has been set up for the partnering countries and overseas delegations at the industrial carnival, being organised in collaboration with FICCI.
