CM lays foundation stone for Judicial Archives, HC employees’ residential complex at Cuttack

Cuttack, January 28: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday laid foundation stone for Centre for Judicial Archives and High Court Employees’ Residential Complex at Cuttack here.

“I thank Orissa High Court for this unique initiative,” said Patnaik.

Attending the foundation laying ceremony of the Centre for Judicial Archives at Cuttack, CM Naveen Patnaik thanked Orissa High Court for this unique initiative. CM appreciated the efforts of Hon’ble Chief Justice Dr S. Muralidhar and team in realisation of this unique project.

Appreciating the efforts of Chief Justice Dr S Murlidhar in realisation of this unique project, the Chief Minister said, “An archive is not only collection of documentary heritage of a nation, but also collective memory of institution, and a passive witness of its history.”

I commend Orissa High Court for its initiative to preserve judicial history and promote judicial heritage, said Patnaik.

Mentioning that the centre will be immensely beneficial to historians and legal luminaries, CM Patnaik said, “Access to scholars and public will stimulate academic activities. CM added research works and publication of academic journals will enhance awareness on Odisha’s judicial heritage.”

“Odisha Government is always keen to support and strengthen the judicial and legal infrastructure in the State. The Government has allotted land for the centre, and will continue to provide all kinds of support for any such initiative,” added Patnaik.
