Odisha

Bhubaneswar, October 26: Concerned over the rising incidents of theft cases in apartments in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, the Commissionerate Police on Saturday issued an advisory for the Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) asking them to install IP-enabled cameras at the entry and exit points of the building.

“In last 10 months, 65 theft cases have been reported in apartments in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack and 29 persons have been arrested. So, I urge the Resident Welfare Associations to install IP-enabled cameras with access to our control room to check theft cases,” said Commissioner of Police S Dev Datta Singh in a video message.

“Associations can contact ACP KK Hariprasad by dialling 7606066766. And if anybody has any grievances and information they can share the same by sending it to our WhatsApp number 7077798111 and we will certainly look into it,” assured Singh.

The Commissioner sought cooperation from all stakeholders to make this initiative a success one.
