Bhubaneswar, November 10: The four-day long 5th EMRS National Cultural and Literary Festival & Kala Utsav- ‘UDBHAV’ will be held in Bhubaneswar from November 12-25.
This year’s event is being observed to mark the 150th birth anniversary of freedom fighter Birsa Munda.
Previous four editions of this EMRS National Cutural & Literary festival and Kala Utsav had been organised in Deheradoon (2023), Bengaluru (2022), Udaipur (2019), Jamshedpur (2018).
Being organised by State ST& SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department, the festival was funded by the National Educational Society for Tribal Students (NESTS).
Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram, his deputy Durgadas Uikey ans ST& SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department Minister Nityananda Gond will grace the event to be held at Sikshya O Anusandhan (SOA) University here.
More than 1,300 students and 250 teachers from Ekalavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) of 22 States will participate in the cultural extravaganza.
The ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department department is taking various measures to give vivid and unique experiences to the participants. Students will be competing with each other in 47 events such as storytelling, music, dance, singing, debate, elocution.
Innovative and creative workshops are also planned in which students can learn new skills and sharpen their existing ones. Winners of these events will be awarded and each student will get a participation certificate for this purpose. Everyday two-hour will be dedicated in the evening to cultural events and renowned artists of the State will perform various art forms exclusively for the students.
Apart from the above, fun zones are also planned whereby students will unwind and relax. Students have started arriving in the city and they are put in different hotels of Bhubaneswar. They will commute to venue through dedicated vehicles
Students will be served breakfast, lunch and dinner at the venue itself. The pan Indian menu also includes cuisines from Odisha.This four day-long event is likely to give students a platform, on which students from the entire country come together, to celebrate the spirit of learning, competition, and cultural celebration amidst fun-fare.
