Bhubaneswar, December 11: Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Wednesday said that the Railways has planned to operate 13,000 special trains for the Mahakumbh, one of India’s largest spiritual and cultural gatherings.
These trains will ensure a smooth and efficient travel experience for millions of pilgrims, featuring enhanced scheduling, strategic routes, and improved station facilities.
Speaking about these developments in the Parliament Vaishnaw said, “The introduction of these initiatives reflects our commitment to meeting the diverse needs of passengers, ensuring equitable access, and supporting the cultural heritage of our nation.”
The special trains for Mahakumbh will prioritize safety, comfort, and operational efficiency, with a strong focus on crowd management at key stations. These measures are expected to significantly ease the burden on the existing rail network during the event.
