Bhubaneswar, April 22: In the wake of the intense heatwave sweeping Odisha, the Odisha Government on Tuesday announced closure of all schools in the State from Wednesday.
“All schools run by the Government, Government-aided and private will remain closed from tomorrow due to heatwave. Stern action will be taken if any private schools found violating the order. However, the exams will be held as per schedule,” announced Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari here on Tuesday.
Similarly, all the Anganwadi centres will also remain shut from Wednesday.
The State is reeling under an intense heatwave with with the temperature crossing 42 degrees Celsius in most parts of the State.
