Bhubaneswar, June 28: Prof Bansidhar Majhi has been appointed as the new Vice Chancellor of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla. Currently, Majhi is working as Director, IIITDM, Kancheepuram in Chennai.
Governor and Chancellor of Universities Prof Ganeshi Lal appointed Majhi as the VSSUT VC for a period of three years.
“In exercise of powers conferred by Sub Section (1) and (5) of Section 11 of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology Act-2008, Governor and Chancellor of Universities, Odisha Prof Ganeshi Lal appointed Prof Bansidhar Majhi as Vice Chancellor of Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla for a period of three years with effect from the date he assumes office as such or until further orders whichever is earlier,” said a notification.
Prof Majhi has more than 26 years of academic experience. He has guided successfully 18 PhD scholars and 70 M.Tech and 8 M.Tech (R) scholars. He has been awarded with the Samanta Chandrasekhar Award, 2016 by the Odisha Government.
