Care for organisations run by Missionaries of Charity in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, December 30: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has asked the District Collectors to be in regular touch with the organisations run by the Missionaries of Charity in Odisha to ensure that no inmate of these organisations suffer, especially from food security and health related distress, said an official release on Thursday.

“Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has asked the District Collectors to be in regular touch with the organisations run by the Missionaries of Charity in Odisha. He has directed them to ensure that no inmate of these organisations suffer, especially from food security and health related distress. Wherever needed, funds from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund can be utilised for this purpose,” said a CMO statement.

It may be mentioned here that Missionaries of Charity is running many Leprosy Homes and Orphanages in Odisha.

The directives came amid the allegations of Ministry of Home Affairs blocking foreign funding of Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity and freezing its bank accounts.
