Seminar held on skill development for university non-teaching staff at Vani Vihar

Bhubaneswar, February 25: In order to keep upgrading the skills, a seminar on skill development for non-teaching employees, working in different public universities of the State, held at the Utkal University here on Saturday.

This unique initiative was organised by the Non-Teaching Employees’ of Utkal University with the patronage of Utkal University Vice Chancellor Prof. Sabita Acharya in its establishment.

Delivering the introductory speech, Prof Acharya highlighted the importance of the skills in life.

“Everybody is born with some inherent talent. We need to explore it with the passage of time,” said Prof Acharya.

She also encouraged all the participants and thanked to the organizers.

University Registrar Dr. Avaya Kumar Nayak spoke about the Enhanced Student Focused Administrative Skills by utilising the rules and regulations in a positive attitude.

“We all should accept change in life. Technology is now the challenge for us to adopt it, for example E-Office in the universities introduced already, so we need to change our skills according to this,” said the Registrar.

University Comptroller of Finance Goutam Pradhan focused on financial problems, process, and procedures to solve it.

He stressed on the weekly cash book maintenance, preparation of realistic budget, procurement procedures with following basic rules and regulations.

College Development Council Director Prof. Nigamananda Das enlightened about the role of non-teaching employees in meeting different accreditation standards.

Among others, AIUEC vice president BN Ray, AOUFF president RK Samantaray, all non-teaching staff of Utkal University, seminar convenor Ajay Kumar Rath and more than 250 non-teaching employees from different universities from Odisha participated in the seminar.
