Bhubaneswar, October 11: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for state-of-the-art wholesale fish market at Pandara in Bhubaneswar and an Integrated Aqua Park in Hirakud in Sambalpur through video conferencing on Saturday.
The Prime Minister will also address the nation through video conferencing from New Delhi and launch the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana.
The program will be live telecasted in all Krishi Vigyan Kendras in the State. All the preparations for the state-level program by the Odisha government have reached the final stage.
Today, a meeting was held with all the Agriculture Ministers of the country under the chairmanship of Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan through video conference. Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Minister KV Singh Deo and State Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik participated in the meeting.
The government has prepared these schemes to ensure food security in the country, provide nutritious food to the people, increase farmers’ income and production.
More than 50 lakh farmers and FPOs of the country will benefit from the above initiatives. This year, a record amount of vegetables and food grains have been produced in the country as compared to the previous years.
Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Agriculture Director Shubham Saxena, senior officers of the Agriculture Department and Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department were present in the meeting.
