2nd Niladri Cup T-20 Inter Departmental Cricket Championship concludes at ECoR

Bhubaneswar, December 22: The 2nd Niladri Cup T-20 Inter Departmental Tennis Ball Cricket Championship, organised by the East Coast Railway Sports Association (ECoRSA), concluded successfully with the final match and closing ceremony being held on Sunday at the Railway Cricket Stadium, Mancheswar here.

In the keenly contested final, the Engineering Department team emerged as the Champion, showcasing consistent performance, excellent teamwork, and sporting excellence throughout the tournament. The RPF team finished as the Runner up, earning appreciation for their spirited and disciplined play.

The closing ceremony was graced by Parmeshwar Funkwal, General Manager, East Coast Railway, who attended the event as the Chief Guest and presented trophies and prizes to the winning and runner up teams, along with individual awardees.

Funkwal congratulated the Engineering and RPF teams on their outstanding performance and appreciated the East Coast Railway Sports Association for organising the championship in a professional and well coordinated manner. He emphasised the importance of sports in promoting physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and mental well being among railway employees.

A total of 11 inter departmental teams from various departments of East Coast Railway participated in the championship. The tournament featured 28 matches, including league matches, semifinals, and the final, played between 01 December 2025 and 21 December 2025, strictly in accordance with ICC T-20 rules.

Dr. Hemant Kagra, President, East Coast Railway Sports Association, played a key role in planning, coordinating, and successfully conducting the tournament. Through initiatives like the Niladri Cup, East Coast Railway continues to strengthen camaraderie, unity, and a vibrant sports culture among its employees, reinforcing its commitment to holistic employee engagement.
