Bhubaneswar/Ahmadabad: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday visited Sri Sathya Sai Heart Hospital at Ahmedabad to meet Odia children undergoing treatment there.
Around 150 Odia children are getting treatment for heart ailment free of cost at the premier hospital Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
The Chief Minister also gave away discharge certificate 36 Odia children who have recovered from the ailments. The managing trustee of Sri Sathya Sai Heart Hospital, Manoj Bhamani was also present. In his maiden visit to Gujarat as CM of Odisha, Patnaik is scheduled to address the Odisha Mahotsav, an event organised by Odias settled there.
Earlier on November 18, the Odisha Government signed a memorandum of understanding with the Rajkot Heart Hospital Trust to bear the cost of their travel expenses to a hospital run by the latter for free surgeries.
Besides, an app – Dil Without Bill – was also launched in which people can upload their medical report and send it to Sri Sathya Sai Heart Hospital for guidance and his/her future course of treatment.
The MoU and the launch of the app came at a free heart diagnosis camp inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Sathya Sai Telemedicine Centre in Kharavela Nagar area in Bhubaneswar.
As per the MoU, the State Government will bear all the travel expenses of the heart patients. They will be treated at the Sri Sathya Sai Heart Hospital at Ahmedabad Gujarat for free surgeries in phases.
