Bhubaneswar: Odisha police on Wednesday donated Rs 1,61,61,412 to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF), to support the people affected by the extremely severe cyclonic storm Fani that hit the State on May 3.
Director General of Police Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma handed over the cheque of Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi here in the presence of Special Armed Force ADG Manoj Chhabra hsi deputy Amitabh Thakur, Law and Order ADG sanjeeb Panda, Central Range (IG) Soumendra Priyadarshi, Southern Range IG Yatindra Koyal, IG (NR) AN Sinha, were present in the programme.
The police establishments and units which contributed for the cause included Balasore, Baragarh, Berhampur, Bhadrak, Deogarh, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Kendrapara, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Nawarangpur, Nayagarh, Rayagada, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Sonepur and Sundargarh district police organisations, Railway Police Cuttack, Rourkela, eight OSAP battalions – Dhenkanal, Jharsuguda, Koraput, Rourkela, Baripada, Cuttack, Chhatrapur, Koraput, second IR Battalion (Rayagada), 3rd IR Battalion (Kalinga Nagar, Jajpur), 4th IR Battalion (Deogarh), 6th IR Battalion (Khurda), 7th Special IR Battalion (Koraput), 8th Special IR Battalion (Bhanjanagar), 9th Special IR Battalion (Kalahandi), 1st SS Battalion Sambalpur, 2nd SS Battalion, Keonjhar, 3rd SS Battalion Gajapati, 4th SS Battalion Malkangiri, OISF, Bhubaneswar, Special Operation Group (SOG), Bhubaneswar and Basic Training Institute, Burla.
