Odisha CM hands over appointment letters to 500 ASOs

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday handed over the appointment letters to at least 500 newly recruited Assistant Section Officers (ASOs), including 166 women officers and called upon for citizen-centric governance.

The ceremony was organized at Rabindra Mandap here.

The newly recruited officials will be engaged in the State Secretariat. They have been selected by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).

Out of the 500, 266 recruits belong to unreserved category, 87 from socially and economically backward castes, 75 from Scheduled Caste (SCs) and 72 from Scheduled Tribe (STs) categories.

Gracing the induction programme Chief Minister Patnaik advised the young officials to be citizen-centric by adopting his 5Ts – Team Work, Technology, Transparency, Time limit and Transformation to ensure good governance.

Home (MoS) Dibya Shankar Mishra and Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Asit Tripathy also graced the event.

Home Department Additional Secretary Partha Sarathi Mishra, and Secretariat Training Institute Principal Debi Prasad Sarangi attended the orientation programme and imparted skills to the young officers.
