Commissioner of Railway Safety to inspect Nayagarh Town-Mahipur line on July 25

Bhubaneswar: Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) will inspect the newly laid 12 km long Broad Gauge Line from Nayagarh Town to Mahipur Railway Station of ongoing 289 km long Khurda Road-Balangir Rail line project on July 25.

Meanwhile, trial run was conducted on the line on Saturday.

Construction of work between Nayagarh Town and Mahipur Section has already been completed and will be opened for traffic after it is declared fit for running of trains from CRS.

For early completion and expediting the construction work of the project, Railways has constructed this line from both the ends from Khurda Road and Bolangir side.

ECoR has already completed and commissioned about 80 km of rail line of the project – 65.455 km from Khurda Road to Nayagarh Town and 14.580 km from Bolangir to Bichhupalli.

Altogether, 92 km of rail line of Khurda Road-Balangir ongoing project has been completed.

Notably, the rail line from Khurda Road to Begunia has been commissioned on July 16, 2015 followed by Begunia to Rajsunakhala on November 3, 2015 and Rajsunakhala to Bolagarh Road on March 20, 2017, Bolagarh Road to Nayagarh Town on June 19, 2017 and from Bolangir to Bichhupalli on January 15, 2019.

A total of Rs 956 crore has been spent till now for construction work of this important project.
