Odisha traces 129 who came in contact with Covid-19 positive man in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has traced at least 129 persons who have come in contact with the 33-year-old youth of Bhubaneswar tested positive for Coronavirus aka COVID-19.

State Government’s COVID-19 spokesperson Subroto Bagchi today said that efforts are on to reach out to the persons to check further spread.

“The Coronavirus positive patient, who is admitted to capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar, has come in contact with 129 persons. The private clinic where he visited has been shut down,” said Bagchi here in a press conference.

Bagchi said that the patient has come come in contact with 76 persons in train while travelling to Bhubaneswar from Delhi while he has come in contact with 53 persons here.

Notably, a 33-year-old youth with travel history to Italy was tested positive for Coronavirus on Sunday night thereby being the first such case in Odisha. The patient returned from Italy on March 6, took train to Bhubaneswar and reached Bhubaneswar on March 12. He is undergoing treatment at the Capital Hospital here. He is stable now.

Bagchi said that the private clinic in Bhubaneswar where the youth had visited for treatment for cold and fever has been closed and the doctor and staff have been put under home isolation.

The youth consulted a private doctor as he developed cold and fever and later was admitted to Capital Hospital on March 14. His samples were tested positive for Coronavirus on March 15.
