Dhamra Port awards merit scholarship to 21 students

Dhamra/Bhadrak: As many as 21 students of Dhamra Port
periphery high schools, who had secured above 75 percent marks in the last High
School Certificate (HSC) examination, were awarded DPCL Merit Scholarship.
 

At a function held within Dhamra Port premises Chief
Executive Officer (CEO) of DPCL Santosh Kumar Mohapatra, Chief Operating
Officer Subrat Tripathy and Vice-President (Projects) Cdr Anil Kar presented
the scholarship certificates and cheques to the meritorious students.
 From among the 21
scholarship awardees, 7 were girl students. While five students each were from
Dosinga High School and SS Nigamanand High School, four students of VN Uchha
Vidyapitha, Kaithakhola , two students each from GP High School, Jagula and GP
High School, Panchutikri and one student each from Dhamrai High School, Bansada
High School and GP High School, Karanapalli were awarded the merit scholarship
for the year 2013-14. From among the students Debashish Rout of Dhamrai High
School had secured highest 89 percent marks.
 CSR Head of DPCL Himansu
Shekhar Sahoo informed that the DPCL Merit Scholarship was started by the
company in 2009 with an idea to encourage higher studies among meritorious
students. The scholarship contains monthly stipend of Rs 1000 (One Thousand) to
the awardees. Several good students, who couldn’t pursue college education due
to poor financial condition of their families will be benefited by the
scholarship, he said.
