victim had gone to Madhukeshari temple in Chakoda village to collect prasad when
the temple priest Rabindra Panda (35) raped her.

Following the incident the victim’s mother filed an FIR
against the priest at Dharmasala police station prompting police to launch a
manhunt to nab him. Meanwhile, Rabindra managed to flee from the village.

Sources said the victim sustained serious injuries in her private
parts. She was immediately rushed to the
Community Health Center (CHC) at Dharmasala and later referred to SCB Medical
College and Hospital in Cuttack as her condition deteriorated.

A case was filed against the priest under Section- 376 (Rape) of IPC and Sections- 4 and 6 of
Protection of Children from Sexual Offence Act, 2012.
