Speedy implementation of investment projects in Odisha stressed

Bhubaneswar: Chief
Secretary Jugal Kishore Mohapatra has directed the concerned departments to institutionalize
State Project Monitoring Group and undertake regular follow up activities for expediting
implementation of investment projects in the State.
The Chief Secretary
directed this while presiding over the 2nd Project Monitoring Committee meeting
held at the Secretariat wherein Special Secretary Planning and Coordination
Pardeep Kumar Jena tabled the present status of the projects and outlined
issues for discussion.
The issues relating to
Tata Sponge Iron, establishment of Resettlement and Rehabilitation colony by
Tata sponge, Utkal E-coal mine project, Radhikapur East coal block, construction
of common approach road for linking Utkal e-coal mine to State High Way-63,
construction of common rail corridor for transportation of coal by IDCO, power
supply to casting unit from Choudwar 33 KV KV line, change of the name of
Yazdani Steel & Power, Sri Bajrang Power & Ispat ltd to set up
Integrated Steel Plant of 0.120 Million ton per annum with proposed investment
of Rs 500 Crores, J.K. Laxmi cement, RSB Transmission, were raised in the
meeting. Mostly the procedural matters relating to disbursement of
compensations, land alienation, forest clearance, issue of forest right
certificate, water allocation and cost sharing among the end users for
construction of common corridor etc figured and resolved in the meeting.
The Chief Secretary
directed to computerize the proceedings and decisions in the meeting itself so
that time taken in the process of communicating the decisions can be minimized.

Among others, the
Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue & Disaster Management) Dr Taradatt,
Secretary Water Resources Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Steel and Mines Secretary
Gudey Srnivas, Rural Development Secretary C.J. Venugopal, IDCO CMD Vishal Dev,
GRIDCO CMD Hemant Sharma, Commissioner Commercial Tax Manoj Ahuja was present
in the meeting.
