Odisha CM announces pensions for 3 lakh more needy people

Bhubaneswar, July 2: Reaffirming the commitment to ‘Social
Security For All’, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced
expansion of pension schemes under which 3 lakh more needy people will be included
in the State.
“I have directed completion of identification and
enlisting of beneficiaries by August 15. My Government will spend Rs 115 crore
from its own resources for the purpose,” said Patnaik.
Pension schemes are now providing social security
cover to 40 lakh beneficiaries in the State.

“It is our avowed mission to ensure that every
deserving and eligible person from elderly, widows to persons with disabilities
are accorded their Right to life and dignity with due social security cover,”
said Patnaik.
