AT link: Minister Dasburma’s kin appears before CBI for quizzing

Jaisingh, brother-in-law of Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister
Sanjay Dasburma on Thursday appeared before the CBI for interrogation in
connection with Artha Tatwa (AT) Group fraud.
Though the CBI, probing
the multi- thousand crore chit fund scam in the State, summoned Jaisingh to
appear before it in person on Monday for clarification, but he did not turn up
citing health problem and sought time.
Jayasingh, who is a
realtor by profession and is director of at least six companies, including Team
Media and Hospitality Private Limited, that publishes a vernacular daily. The
Central agency suspected that the company has taken huge money from AT Group.
Sources said Jayasingh
who has been served notice under Section 160 of the CrPC.
Notably, on April 4,
CBI summoned Minister under Section 91 of the CrPC asking him to submit certain
documentary evidence about the SUVs (Pajero) he was gifted reportedly by AT
Group chief Pradeep Sethy.
However, the Minister has
been refuting the allegation that Sethi gifted the SUV to him saying he bought the
vehicle under finance schemes.
