Dhenkanal, Sep 8: Cuttack division Vigilance sleuthson Thursday arrested Dhenkanal District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) Ophthalmology
department technical assistant Srinibas Chinnar for taking bribe from a
patient.
Chinnar was caught red handed by the anti-graft body
officials while he was taking Rs 2,000 bribe from one Trilocahan Satpathy, a resident
of Damodarpur under Sukinda police station in Jajpur district for cataract
operation at Eye Ward corridor of the DHH.

Satpathy had visited the hospital for cataract operation
recently. But Chinnar demanded Rs 2,000 to facilitate proper check up/test of
his eye and also early cataract operation by the DHH eye specialist.

Finding no alternative, Trilochan reported the
matter with the Cuttack division Vigilance Cell following which a trap was laid
and the technical assistant was nabbed red handed when he was taking money from
Trilochan on the hospital premises.
