100 companies to participate in Make in Odisha conclave

Bhubaneswar, Nov 22: Odisha is gearing
up to host the Make in Odisha Conclave at Bhubaneswar from November 30 December
2. Nearly 100 companies will participate in the event. The mega investor meet
is expected to make the State a manufacturing hub of the East and to be the
most preferred investment destination in India.
Aditya Birla Group, L&T, Videocon,
Adani group among many others leading firms will participate in the event.
Odisha has been identified as one of
the three States for organization of Make in India shows in the country. The
Make in Odisha conclave is being organised in collaboration with DIPP,
Government of India and CII as Industry Partner. The objective of the conclave
is to showcase the manufacturing ecosystem of the State to investors, highlight
investment opportunities across focus sectors of the State and elicit
investment intentions from the companies.
The event is expected to see
participation from key companies from across the country represented by their
top officials. One of the key elements of the conclave is organization of eight
sectoral sessions on identified focus sectors of the State including Smart
City, Chemicals, Petrochemicals and Plastics, 
Tourism, Textiles & Apparel,
Food Processing, Skill Development, Electronics manufacturing & IT and
Defence Manufacturing. Leading speakers from the industry and Government have
confirmed participation in the sectoral sessions where the policy ecosystem,
business potential of the specific sector and investment opportunities in the
sector along with the outlook for the sector shall be discussed and
deliberated.
In another significant development,
the Government is coming out with competitive sector-specific policies for
Textiles & Apparel, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Healthcare investment,
MSME Development, Food Processing, Renewable Energy and Tourism as a lead upto the
event. Once promulgated, these policies will complement the Industrial Policy
2015.
The conclave will also witness
organisation of INNOVEX, flagship event of Young Indians- the youth wing of
CII, which will focus on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship amongst the
youth. 
The event will provide opportunities for participants to interact with
acclaimed speakers from Silicon Valley, USA and from across the country on
innovation, funding and entrepreneurial skills. Successful start-ups from the
State will be sharing their experience and learnings. It is to be noted that
the State Government recently promulgated a new Start Up Policy with a vision
to emerge amongst the top 3 Startup Hubs in the country by 2020.
The conclave has received overwhelming
response from the investor community and investors from across sectors have
registered for participation in the conclave.
