Low intensity earthquake hits Kandhamal in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, October 11, 2017: An earthquake of slight
intensity having its magnitude 3.2 on the Richter scale occurred at 11.33 am on
Wednesday with its epicentre at latitude 19.80 North and longitude 84.10 East
in Kandhamal district of Odisha.
No loss of life and property has been reported so far due to
the low intensity earthquake.
“An earthquake of slight intensity having its magnitude 3.2
on the Richter scale occurred at 11.33 hours IST on 11th October 2017 with its
epicentre at latitude 19.80 North and longitude 84.10 East in Kandhamal
district of Odisha,” said a Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) communiqué.
“The epicentre of the earthquake is about distance of 100 km
in Northeastly direction of Rayagada seismological observatory and about 280 km
in South-westerly direction of Bhubaneswar,” it added.
The earthquake is felt at Daringibadi in Kandhamal district.
