Bhubaneswar, August 15, 2018: Maintaining that ensuring ‘Health for All’ is a true cornerstone of independence, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday dedicated the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), a health assurance scheme, to people of Odisha on the occasion of 72nd Independence Day.
“Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana is a historic initiative and will have a great impact on State’s health scenario. The scheme will benefit more than 70 per cent of our population. In addition the States entire population will be covered under free health services,” said Patnaik after launching the scheme at the Capital Hospital here.
“With this scheme, my Government is stepping up its resolve to provide healthcare cover for everyone in Odisha. Under the scheme, 70 lakh
families in the State will have medical an assured health cover of Rs 5 lakh per family member and Rs 7 lakh for the families with women,” added Patnaik.
Over 70 per cent population of Odisha, including beneficiariesof Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana and Biju Krushak Kalyan Yojana will also benefit from Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana.
Meanwhile, the Health and Family Welfare Department has asked all Collectors to reach out to all 70 lakh beneficiaries with the letter signed by the Chief Minister.
