Bhubaneswar: Condemning the Pulwama terror attack, the Odisha IPS Association, a body of IPS officers of Odisha-cadre, on Saturday decided to contribute one-day salary to the welfare fund of DG, CRPF in support of the bereaved families.
Forty CRPF jawans, including two from Odisha made supreme sacrifices and attained martyrdom in the ghastly terror attack in Pulawama in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday afternoon.
“The IPS Association, Odisha condemns the terror attack on CRPF personnel. While expressing deep sorrow and anguish, the association stands firmly in solidarity with the CRPF and is sure that resolute action will be taken against the perpetrators of this heinous crime,” said a release issued by the association.
The association further resolves that all its members will contribute one day salary to the welfare fund of DG, CRPF for supporting the bereaved families, it added.
Two Odia CRPF jawans Prasanna Sahu of Pirasikharpur village in Naugaon area in Jagatsinghpur district and Manoj Kumar Behera of Ratanpur in Niali area in Cuttack district were also martyred in the attack. The State Government has announced Rs 25 lakh ex-gratia each for the family members of the two brave jawans.
