Bhadrak: A two-minute silence was observed at a public meeting attended by Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Rajnath Singh Bhadrak district in Odisha district on Sunday to pay homage to the 40 CRPF personnel killed in a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama.

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and senior BJP leaders were present at the event.

Forty CRPF personnel, including two from Odisha – Prasanna Sahu and Manoj Kumar Behera- were killed and five injured in one of the deadliest terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, when a Jaish-e-Mohammed suicide bomber rammed a vehicle carrying over 100 kg of explosives into their bus in Pulwama district.

At the public rally in Ranital here, the Singh said the supreme sacrifice of the martyred jawans won’t go in vain.

During his visit to the district, Singh also visited Eram and offered floral tributes to the martyrs who were gunned down in 1942 by the British police. Much like the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in Amritsar, at least 29 people were killed in Eram, when the police opened fire at a crowd that had gathered to protest against the British regime.
