Bhubaneswar: A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between ICAR-Indian Institute of Pulse Research, Kanpur and Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) for establishment of Regional Research Centre of ICAR-IIPR in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
The proposed centre will cater the need for development of various breeding materials of pulse crops such as pigeonpea, mungbean, chickpea, urdbean, lentil, cowpea, horsegram suitable fir growing in humid region, besides producing nucleus and breeder seeds of pulse varieties of national importance.
The State Government has provided 10 hectare land in OUAT campus for the project. The pact was signed between ICAR-Indian Institute of Pulse Research, Kanpur Director NP Singh and OUAT Dean (Research) LM Garnayak in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
