The Odyssey City Card: Pay for utilities with a single card

Bhubaneswar, October 5, 2018: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday launched ‘The Odyssey City Card’, a common payment card to pay for citizen services in Bhubaneswar and My Odyssey Centres’ to facilitate payment for services like shopping, city bus, recreation, parking and utility payments such as property tax.

A joint initiative of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) – Smart City and ICICI Bank, it will offer a convenient digital payment option to the people of the city.

The ‘My Odyssey Centres’ will facilitate payment for services like shopping, city bus, recreation, parking and utility payments such as property tax. There are 325 centres planned to be opened in the Smart City out of which 25 centres were opened in first phase.

Launching the facility at the State Secretariat here, Patnaik said this Card system reflects the journey of the heritage city of Bhubaneswar into a modern urban centre and endeavour of Government to transform it into a Smart City through technology.

“This initiative would help in positioning   Bhubaneswar   as a premier Sports City during the upcoming Men’s Hockey World Cup” said Patnaik.

The   first Odyssey City Card was presented to the Chief Minister at the function.

Bhubaneswar (Central) MLA   Bijoy  Mohanty,   Bhubaneswar (North) MLA Priyadarshi Mishra, BMC    Mayor Anant  Narayan Jena, Development Commissioner R Balkrishnan and Executive Director of the  ICICl  Bank and senior officers of the Government and BMC.
