Cyclone Fani: Railways on tourists, students’ care

Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway (ECoR) on Thursday decided to run a special train between Puri and Shalimar in Howrah to facilitate movement and evacuate detained tourists at Puri and students coming for their educational purposes just a day ahead of the possible landfall of the extremely severe cyclonic storm Fani in Puri.

This train will leave Puri at 12 noon, today towards Shalimar having stoppages at Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur Keonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore and Kharagpur between Puri and Shalimar.

This train has one AC-2 Tier, three AC-3 Tier, 10 sleeper class, four second class seating and two guard-cum-luggage van in its composition.

Earlier, the ECoR has decided to run two special trains between Puri and Kolkata to evacuate tourists.

The first train special train will leave from Puri at 3 pm towards Howrah while the second special train will leave for Howrah at 6 pm. It will have stoppages at Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Jajpur, Kenonjhar Road, Bhadrak, Balasore, and Kharagpur.
