Matric results out, girls outperform boys

Cuttack: Girls outshined boys in this year’s annual High School Certificate (HSC) or Matric examinations. Out of 3,97,125 students who passed the examination, 1,91,655 are male and 2,05,470 are female.

The total pass percentage stood at 70.78 per cent as against 76.23 per cent last year.

School and Mass Education Secretary Pradipta Mohapatra published the result booklet at the BSE office here Results at 9 am in the presence of Board president Jahan Ara Begum.

The results will be available online at 11 am today. Students can check their results online from 11 am at http://www.bseodisha.ac.in, http://www.bseodisha.nic.in, said Begum. At least 5,87,720 students have appeared the examination at 2,953 centres. The exam in was held between February 22 and March 8.

This year’s matriculation examination was mired with controversy because question papers going viral in social media.

While A1 grade was awarded to 1,181 students, A2 grade were awarded to 9,938, B1 to 24,991, B2 to 45,319, C to 76,139, D to 11,6262, E to 12,2062, F to 63, 954 in the examinations.

While Koraput recorded the lowest pass percentage of 50.61 per cent Jharsuguda recorded the highest pass percentage of 85.48 per cent.

Two control rooms have been set up by BSE for students for any kind of inquiry. Students can dial 0671-2412059 and 2412060 for any inquiry relating to results.
