Bhubaneswar: Nigeria Odia Samaja (OSAN) on Thursday donated Rs 5 Lakh to Chief Minister Relief Minister’s Fund (CMRF) to support the people affected by the cyclone Fani that hit the State on May 3.
A team of OSAN Executive Committee members led by Capt DK Mishra visited Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik here handed over the demand draft (DD) of Rs 5 lakh to the Chief Minister at the State Secretariat here.
OSAN office bearers Sarat Sahoo, Prasanna Kumar Jena, Sanjay Sahoo, Hadibandhu Rout and Ramesh Biswal and Bijay Nayak were also present.
The CM expressed gratitude to the delegation for extending help to Odisha at the time of difficulty.
A total 20,367 villages in 14 districts were affected due to the cyclone. It also affected 1.6 crore and 1.88 lakh hectares of crop areas.
