Bhawanipatna: The artistes of the Kalahandi-based Sangam – a socio-cultural organisation – have regaled the audience with their extraordinary performance at Dhanbad in Jharkhand recently.
The occasion is a three-day all-India multi-lingual dance and drama competition, Kala Hira 2019, which was organised by All India Theatre Council.
In the drama section, noted dramatist Rajendra Padhi’s play ‘Khar-Tap’ that was produced by the Sangam bagged maximum awards. A total of 28 dramas of different languages were played in the event.
While ‘Khar-Tap’ bagged the second best production award Rajendra Padhi was bestowed with the best director and best character actor whereas Annapurna Panda was the third best character actress, respectively.
Jogendra Rana was awarded for best stage craft and costume. Chakradhar Maharana received best musician award.
Subhranshu Nanda, Sudhir Kumar Dhangadamajhi, Dileswar Rana, Daksha Sahu, Bholaprasad Nag, Asharani Panda, Sujata Mallick, Jhunu Mallick, Bishnu Baisal and Jayant Das acted in the play while Upasmita Karuan and Gouri Bag supported in the play.
Lipsa Maharana, Rakesh Bag, Sambhu Harijan and Khagapati Harijan supported in music.
