Papu Pom Pom’s ‘Mr Kanhaiya’ poster stirs up controversy, FIR lodged

Bhubaneswar: Ollywood actor and comedian Tatwa Prakash Satpathy, popularly known as Papu Pom Pom, has courted controversy for a poster of his upcoming movie “Mr Kanhaiya” that shows him holding ropes tied to the neck of seven girls, drawing flak from different quarters.

The poster depicts the seven girls as mares and the actor as Sarathi.

The poster has now become viral in social media. The actor will be seen in opposite of actress Jhilik Bhattacharya. The film is being produced by Sitaram Agrawal and Namita Agrawal.

Meanwhile, ace sprinter Dutee Chand took to Twitter to express her displeasure over the manner the girls in the poster were depicted. “I personally do not like the poster and strongly condemned the concept. The poster is a sheer disrespect to the women fraternity. I request the production house to remove the poster forthwith,” tweeted Chand.

Meanwhile, noted social worker Linkan Subudhi lodged a complaint at the Mahila Police station here demanding action against the producer and director of the movie.

It may be mentioned here that Papu is making a comeback to the plywood with ‘Mr Kanhaiya” after a gap of almost one-and-a-half years due to his illness.

Earlier, he also hogged headlines for wrong reasons like casting couch in the recent past. The matter is still sub-judice.
