India, West Indies teams arrive for Barabati ODI

Bhubaneswar: The cricket teams of India and West Indies on Thursday arrived here for the third and final One Day International (ODI) to be played on December 22 at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack.

The match has become important for both the teams as the three-match series is levelled at 1-1.

The players arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here in a special aircraft from Vishakhapatnam at 1 pm. They reached the team hotel – Mayfair Lagoon – by luxury buses.

Heavy security were deployed at the airport as well as at the hotel after hundreds of cricket buffs were gathered outside both the venue and the route connecting airport and Mayfair Lagoon to see and welcome their cricketers on their arrival in the city.

Both the teams will practice at Barabati Stadium on Friday morning and in afternoon session ahead of the final match.

As per reports, the India Team would practise at Barabati stadium at 9 am tomorrow followed by West Indies at 2 pm. They would move to the stadium amid tight security.

Sources said at least 63 platoons of police force and a Rapid Action Force contingent comprising 300 officers under the supervision of senior police officials have been deployed to maintain law and order.
