Bangalore-bound Prashanti, Garib Rath express trains to run on diverted routes from Jan 27

Bhubaneswar: In view of safety related modernisation work for commissioning of doubling and electrification work between Guntur and Guntakal stations under the South Central Railway jurisdiction, two Bangalore-bound trains – Prashanti Express and Garib Rath Express, originating from Bhubaneswar and Puri, respectively, will run on diverted routes from January 27.

According to a statement of East Coast Railway (ECoR), (18463/18464) Bhubaneswar-Bangalore-Bhubaneswar Prashanti Express that will originate from Bhubaneswar between January 27 and February 4 and from Bangalore from January 26 to February 4 will run on diverted route via Krishna Canal-Gudur-Renigunta-Melpakkam-Katpadi-Jolarpettai route bypassing Krishna Canal-Guntur-Guntakal-Dharmavaram route.

Similarly, (22883/22884) Puri-Yesvantpur-Puri Garib Rath Express which leave Puri on January 31 and from Yesvantpur on February 1 will also run on diverted route via Krishna Canal-Gudur-Renigunta-Melpakkam-Katpadi-Jolarpettai route bypassing Krishna Canal-Guntur-Dhone-Gooty-Dharmavaram route.

Apart from this, (58131/58132) Rourkela-Puri-Rourkela Passenger will remain cancelled from both the directions on January 24 for safety related modernisation work between Jujumura-Charmal and Boinda-Jarapada stations in Angul-Sambalpur Railway Section for construction of limited height subways.
